Malaysian company Straits Inter Logistics Berhad (SIL), parent company of bunkering company Tumpuan Megah Development Sdn Bhd (Tumpuan Megah), changed its company name to Straits Energy Resources Berhad effective Thursday August 19, t -he announces.
The company’s securities on Bursa Malaysia will be traded and listed under the new names from 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 24, 2021.
In early July, Straits Energy Resources Group chief executive Dato Sri Ho Kam Choy said the name change was intended to give more thought to the group’s rapidly growing business as it explores more synergistic opportunities in the space of sustainable energy and alternative energy.
Collector time previously reported that Straits Energy Resources received approval from the Malaysian Marine Ministry on July 30, 2021 to begin operations to develop an integrated offshore ship-to-ship transshipment hub.
The company reported a 26% year-over-year increase in profit for the quarter ended March 31, 2021.
