Schneider-Electricthe leader in the digital transformation of energy management and automation, announced today that the Moroccan team GreenOverMorrow is the winner of Schneider goes greenan annual competition that invites university students around the world to share their ideas for innovations that can help make the world cleaner, more inclusive and more sustainable.

Led by Abir Werzgan, Hajar Werzgan and Omrane Derhy, the GreenOverMorrow team received the title in recognition of their automated greenhouse solution: an XaaS (all as a service) solution compatible with IoT and AI using panels solar panels alongside the grid and donated crops to reduce energy losses, save water and reduce carbon emissions.
The judging panel, comprised of senior executives from Schneider Electric and AVEVA, was particularly impressed with the applicability of the winning solution and the passion the winning team demonstrated to positively impact agriculture in their region.
The judges congratulated all the finalists for their exceptional work, their insightful presentations and the immense energy they displayed. They commented that “The winning solution from the GreenOverMorrow team combines optimized energy management with a subscription service business model and has the potential to unlock more sustainable food production, not only in Morocco, but in other parts of the world. “
The winning team, made up of students from ENSAM University of Casablanca and Mohammed VI Polytechnic University of Ben Guerir, will receive a cash prize of 10,000 euros. Seven other teams – each representing a different region – qualified for the final round of the competition. All entrants received mentorship to help them refine their ideas and pitch them to the judges.

In 2022 alone, more than 22,200 students from 200 countries registered for the event and more than 3,700 submitted innovative ideas that fit into the competition’s five categories: energy access, future, global supply chain of the future, networks of the future, Deciphering the Future.
